So, no matter we’re doing or what we might be facing the good news is that He’s given us today. It was for His disciples and all of mankind not just the Jewish people. The commission from Jesus greatly expanded who this message was for. Jesus speaks to his disciples from his resurrected body, offering them a parting charge to share God’s story of love with the world. That passage in Mark 16 is known as the “great commission”.

Yet, our lives are so full and distracting that we forget sometimes to pursue one of the most central commands of our faith to share the Good News of Jesus, who is the truth, the answer and the only hope for this lost, hurt, broken, confused, and searching world. Our blessings should make us thankful/ grateful enough to want to go out into the world to witness them and to proclaim the saving grace of Jesus. James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father…” We’re remembering to thank the One whose grace and mercy provides to us. Today we’re enjoying the fruits of our human endeavors family, friends, food & football, to name a few, and giving blessings over our Thanksgiving meals. This verse may seem to be better suited for an Easter article since it was spoken by Jesus after His resurrection but here on Thanksgiving Day I can’t think of a more appropriate time for it! One such verse is Mark 16:15 ‘And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”’ We can let them just sit there in our minds or we can use them to God’s purpose for us. These can be understood and appreciated from the perspective of the actual times in which they were written/spoken. There are some Bible verses that take us to a certain “calendar” timeframe. Praise the Lord for the report he received.įor more information call (318) 285-9484. Bro Don announced his plans to start back preaching the first Sunday in January.
